The seals I use are an upgraded version of the originals using modern high density felt. My seals are also .001in. smaller in ID (inner diameter) and .001 in. larger in OD (outer diameter) and twice the thickness of the originals which insures a snug fit and better than original sealing force. I manufacture these seals and I ship them worldwide.
Signs that seals need replacing include erratic or surging idle, high idle, engine stalls when it idles down or popping through the carbs at idle. Also, low vacuum when carb synchronization gauges are attached is a good sign of leaking throttle shaft seals.
