A beautiful unaltered SUPER RARE 1961 Gibson Les Paul Junior with original Gibson Hard shell Case.

I know, it looks like an SG but the first Les Paul Jr’s were the later to be called "SG".

My 1963 Gibson catalog shows this guitar without the Les Paul Junior Logo..They were SG’s then… It also shows this Logo in my Gibson 1961 Catalog… I dated this one from the 1961 pots inside the unmolested cavity.

This all original 1961 Gibson Les Paul Junior has a gorgeous mahogany body finished in cherry. The solid body, single pickup, double cutaway guitar is both simple and elegant. The mahogany neck has a rosewood fret board with 10 dot inlays and 22 frets. It has a 24 3/4" scale neck and a nut width of 1 11/16" … The neck feels wonderful and it sounds as good as it looks.

The only malady I could find was at some point, some Grover or other tuners had been installed. There are filled extra tuner holes showing. See pic on Reverb... Originals are back on it and they look great!

This was a one owner guitar that I got here in Des Moines IA. It is in fabulous shape. Only slight rising of the pick guard and one tiny crack at the lowest screw hole also on the pick guard.

The Original Aluminum Tailpiece Bridge is in great shape as are the big frets. See pic ….

Original everything including the knobs, Kluson Single line Tuners and of course, the awesome Gibson P90.

What can I say about vintage Gibson P90’s. If you are still reading this, you need no explanation. They are creamy and oh so full of tone.

This one is very loud and no hint of any laying off of tone. I love it!
