Описание: The Portuguese GP at Portimão was Lewis Hamilton's 92nd Formula 1 race win, which takes him past the record set by Michael Schumacher. His 52nd DHL Fastest Lap has opened up an even bigger gap on his rivals in this year's competition: in the 2020 season, the Mercedes driver has set the fastest lap on five occasions, while Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas have done so twice each.

Hamilton started from pole position. The first laps of the race saw plenty of action. As the rain began to set in, the reigning champion had difficulty getting his tires up to temperature and was overtaken first by team-mate Bottas and then by McLaren driver Carlos Sainz. The Brit moved back up to second place after six laps and regained the lead on the 20th. From then on, the win was never in any doubt.

During this time, Hamilton really made the tires work for him, setting three fastest race laps in quick succession. After overtaking his team-mate, the new record race winner posted another fastest lap to open up a big gap.

Hamilton came in for his tire change on Lap 40. The fresh set of hard tires also took some time to get into their temperature window. By Lap 44, Hamilton was once again setting one fastest lap after another.

On Lap 47, it seemed that Hamilton might have got the maximum out of the tires, and it was now Bottas's turn to make a play for the fastest lap by shaving 0.001 seconds off the time on the leaderboard. Two laps later, Hamilton took another 0.001 seconds off. As the race progressed, the leader clocked four more fastest laps, improving by almost 1.2 seconds. Hamilton eventually posted his DHL Fastest Lap-winning time of 1:18.750 minutes on the 63rd lap.

"I think the key is the times when you have a tailwind," said Hamilton after the race. "It's minimizing the loss through those stages. Set-up was something that I really focused on. It was less about qualifying set-up, and more for the race set-up and I think today that enabled me to go one better, I guess, than before. I just felt like I was generally getting faster and faster throughout the race - but I had to keep up the pace for these tires. That was really the key."
