HDB to pilot new hostel-like public rental model for singles

Описание: Low-income single people will soon have the option of renting furnished bedrooms under a new public rental scheme. It's part of the housing board's aim to offer tenants more privacy in shared living spaces. HDB plans to convert the former Anderson Junior College hostel in Ang Mo Kio into public rental housing with 480 single rooms. Each room will come with basic furnishings like a bed frame, wardrobe and shelves. But facilities like the washroom and kitchen will be shared among the tenants on every level. The government has said it will run the pilot for a year or two.
