✨ Kailāsa Tapascharyāyām Shiva Dhyanam is a rare, deeply poetic meditation on the divine form of Lord Shiva, as seen during intense penance on Mount Kailāsa. This vivid dhyana appears in sacred texts describing Shiva’s radiant, compassionate, awe-inspiring form—surrounded by snakes, ash, moonlight, and divine jewels.
This video presents the stotra in original Sanskrit with line-by-line English meaning, ideal for visualizing Shiva during meditation or worship.
📜 English Translation (Selected Key Verses)
10-11.
I meditate on three-eyed, blue-throated Lord Shiva, who wears the crescent moon,
Adorned with waves of Ganga and garlands of lotus—his entire body smeared with sacred ash, crowned with matted locks.
12-13.
Clad in snakes and sacred thread of serpents, with Tripundra marks on his body,
Shining beside Uma Devi, with fragrant garlands of Mandara and Jasmine adorning his broad chest.
14-15.
Wearing a tiger skin as his waistcloth, glowing with serpent-crested earrings,
With brilliant armlets and gem-studded bangles, his feet resemble blooming lotuses adorned with silver anklets.
16-17.
Clothed in divine silks, ever-smiling SadaShiva shines like the eighth-moon night,
His face beautiful as a lotus, teeth like pomegranate seeds—radiant and pure.
18-19.
His lips red like ripe bimba fruit, eyes glowing blue and red like blue lotuses,
The witness of all worlds—Lord Ishwara himself, seated with sparkling emerald brilliance.
20-22.
He meditates on Goddess Parvati—her nose shaped like a blooming jasmine bud, adorned with a shining pearl,
With a vermilion mark at the parting of her hair and brows arched like jeweled bows,
Her forehead adorned with musk and radiance divine.
