Continuing our Airstream Crater to Caverns southward journey from Oregon’s coast through California toward Arizona’s Kartchner Caverns, we leave Mia Bia Wines in Redwood Valley and head toward Nevada County Fairgrounds RV Park near Grass Valley. Unexpected snow on Donner Pass forces us to extend our stay from one night to two—safety first.
On a sunny morning we resume travel, stopping at Sawdust Alpaca Farm, a Harvest Hosts location in Northern California. Michelle hand-feeds the friendly alpacas while we enjoy a peaceful overnight boondocking stay surrounded by these gentle animals.
