From Struggle to Hope: Cash Support & Education Helping Afghan Families

Through the class, my children receive everything they need—clothes, books, pens, and more. They can study peacefully; they have a heater and all the things they need in the classroom,” he says.

Khalilullah’s children can attend our Community-Based Education (CBE) classes thanks to EU funding and partnership with the local partner SADA.
In addition to education support, we provided Khalilullah’s family cash assistance. “Today, we received 19,620 AFN ($450) in cash assistance,” he explains. “Now we can buy shoes, clothes, and other essentials for the children. Some nights, my children had only bread and tea to eat.”

With funding from the European Union and co-funding from the Czech Development Cooperation, we distributed cash to more than 10,000 people across 150 villages in central and northern Afghanistan.
Support through education and cash assistance will strengthen their resilience and opportunities for a better future.
