We rode the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway Train, billed as a top attraction of Chattanooga, and the steepest passenger train in the world. Originally opened in 1895, the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway has a lot of history behind it.
The ride itself is at a modest, leisurely speed, and took about 10 minutes. We were able to get a front row seat for this funicular ride, and you can see it from our POV as it left from the Upper Station to the Lower Station/St Elmo at the base of the Lookout Mountain.
This was certainly one of the highlights of our visit to Tennessee, the Volunteer State in July 2019.
