Yippee Guys a FREE one..And this one is a real good one. Just have to watch out for the Croc’s, its all good there is only two.. The place is called Toomulla Beach Camping Area in Queensland just turn off the Bruce Highway at Toomulla Beach Road around 44km North of Townsville, and follow the road to a turn right into Herald Street just before the end. You can’t miss it, and you don’t want to miss either. The bad thing is it’s only a 48hrs campsite and you have to book on line, but I have provided a link to book: https://townsville.bookable.net.au/#!...
The 30 campsites are all level and are spread out quite well, most of the sites are shaded but there is room for the sun to come through to charge your solar panels.
The amenities are quite nice and flushing toilets, plus it has wheel chair access. The toilets were well stocked with everything when I was there. There is a dump site nearby at Vincent ‘Bushy” Parker Park, which has another FREE campsite as well. And if you want to see that Video Review, check out out my travel show on YouTube. There is water around this area but please take care, it may still be advisable to boil water before drinking. The campsite has a huge playground for your kids to spend hours running around and playing. Right next to the playground is the two BBQ’s which are under cover, and right next to that is a huge under cover area that can house 20 families under it. Please remember guys this is a very popular campground with the caravaners and can get a little busy at times. That’s why I say to book in advance. This site is right on a small inlet, and right near the beach where there is heaps of places to go fishing.. But please watch out for the croc’s and if you don’t want to fish on the beach there is a boat ramp right near this campsite, and the inlet is a great spot, especially on a run out tide. For all you pet lovers they are allowed at this site. The mobile phone coverage is limited here, but you can make phone calls and very small down load speed. Sorry guys no fires here at this site, not even in a fire pit..Bummer.
