Some students learn Portuguese from English. When learning the new language, English speakers often associate the '-ING' ending form of verbs in English to the '-ANDO', '-ENDO', '-INDO' ending forms in Portuguese. Such association does work sometimes, but some other times...it doesn't, leading to a misuse of the Gerund in Portuguese.

In today's lesson, you will learn some basic grammar rules, such as:

when both languages use the Gerund form;
when Portuguese uses the Infinitive form, instead;
that Portuguese never uses the Gerund ( '-ANDO', '-ENDO', '-INDO') in compound nouns - the tip of the day.
