Minister Veena George was injured during a protest by the KSU (Kerala Students Union). She sustained injuries to her neck and hand. The incident took place at Kannur Railway Station. Speaker A.N. Shamseer and others arrived at the railway station. Earlier, Youth Congress workers who had shown a black flag to the minister were attacked by CPI(M) workers.
