Ahead of the planned seat-sharing discussion with its alliance partners of the INDIA bloc, the Congress held a series of meetings with its state units at the party headquarters in Delhi.
The meetings took place after the Congress's poll drubbing in three Hindi-heartland states in the recently concluded Assembly elections. Besides the worry that the election losses could weaken its bargaining power during seat-sharing discussions, the Congress fears that pessimism might set in if the state units are not consulted and convinced about the seat-sharing formula.
