Auto sales for December 2025 delivered a strong surprise as demand remained robust across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, and tractors. Despite a phase of heavy discounting earlier, the GST-led demand boost has shown lasting impact.
Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and M&M reported solid passenger vehicle growth, while the commercial vehicle segment saw renewed momentum with strong numbers from Eicher Motors (VECV), Tata Motors CV, and Ashok Leyland. Royal Enfield once again crossed the 1 lakh mark, while tractor sales from Escorts and M&M surged on the back of good monsoon and rural income support. Overall, the auto sector enters 2026 with strong growth visibility.
