How to Read the Bile Acids Summary on StoolOMX™

Описание: Here's how to break down the first three lines on the first page for the StoolOMX™ add-on to the GI-MAP®. Here, we are looking at the Total bile acids, % Primary bile acids, and % Secondary bile acids.

1️⃣ Total Bile Acids
·        Reflects overall bile acid production & excretion
·        High = overproduction or malabsorption
·        Low = poor synthesis, low bile flow, or severe dysbiosis

2️⃣ % Primary Bile Acids
·        Normally, ~95% reabsorbed in small intestine
·        High % in stool → malabsorption or rapid transit

3️⃣ % Secondary Bile Acids
·        Reflect microbial conversion in the colon
·        Low = weak gut flora activity or dysbiosis
·        High = altered colonic metabolism, possible imbalance
