It Takes a Village -- It will be difficult if not impossible to stop workers compensation claims if your entire team is not in it with you. I hear employers tell me that their employees are nine to fivers, they don't care, and in fact if they get injured they want every penny that is coming to them. Well, my thought is that if your entire team is not in it with you they will ultimately take the organization down. The truth is that most people want to be involved with a company that is successful. So that means it takes the entire team to change what is normal...it takes a village.
The Manager Leader -- Your middle level managers are the key to eliminating workers compensation claims because they're the closest to the people getting hurt. The challenge is that most middle level managers and supervisors have never been trained to be true leaders. They usually have been trained to be a boss and where do they get the training ...maybe from a prior job, a gut instinct or maybe the way their parents raised them. But as soon as you get those middle level supervisors and managers trained on how to give constructive feedback and be the leader that they need to be you'll dramatically increase productivity and eliminate workers compensation claims.
