Performed in the Philippine Pavilion at the WORLD EXPO 2010 (Shanghai, China)
The dance is a stylized mixture of various ethnic/traditional movements from North to South of the Philippine archipelago. This is my version of this dance which has been passed on to many generations of solo dancers in our performing group Kontra-Gapi (Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino, the resident music and dance ensemble of the College of Arts and Letters, University of the Philippines Diliman)!
