The Electronic Lead Screw requires a stable spindle speed in order to cut accurate threads. This video shows an R&D version that tracks the spindle with a one pulse per rev sensor. The spindle disk is run with a small electric motor and my finger slows down the spindle which results in changes to the ELS lead screw motor.
