Ad • Exploring Portoferraio & Elba with Windstar Cruises | Vineyards & a Hosted Dinner on Wind Star

Описание: Ad • Come with me as I explore the beautiful island of Elba on my Windstar Cruises voyage aboard the elegant motor sailing yacht Wind Star. This was a truly wonderful day that blended Italian charm, history, and incredible food.

Our ship docked in Portoferraio, the island’s main town and a historic port surrounded by pastel buildings and ancient forts. From here, I joined a Windstar shore excursion to Porto Azzurro, a gorgeous fishing village on Elba’s southeastern coast, where I had time to wander around the pretty harbour.

Next, we travelled to a local vineyard, one Napoleon Bonaparte himself once admired during his exile on Elba. I enjoyed sampling some of the island’s delicious wines while taking in panoramic views of the coast.

Back in Portoferraio, I decided to stay ashore to explore further, walking along the marina, climbing hundreds of steps upwards,winding through cobbled streets to reach the island’s impressive forts. The views from the top were absolutely worth the effort!

Later, I enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Veranda on board Wind Star, attended an informative lecture about tomorrow’s port, and then joined the Captain’s Welcome Event. In the evening, I was invited to a hosted dinner with Hotel Director Calvin and Spa Manager Melisse, the food was exceptional and the conversation even better!

To finish the day, I watched our beautiful night-time sailaway from Portoferraio, reflecting on a perfect day exploring Elba.
