Understanding Attack and Damage
The effectiveness of attack and damage bonuses varies based on your current setup. Let’s break down how these bonuses work.

Base Attack Calculation
Your fleet's base attack can be increased through:

Ship Level: Higher levels provide a stronger base attack.
Cannons: Equip higher-level cannons for better base attacks.
Gun Bays: Upgrade all Gun Bays on your Flagship.
Stargaze: Enhance through Stargaze bonuses.
For example, combining a level 29 Fearless Princess (209), a Cannon (312), 10 level 5 Gun Bays (250), and Stargaze (195) gives you 966 base attacks.

Sailor Bonus and Strength
The Sailor bonus is crucial. Upgrading the captain's quarter can significantly boost your fleet. For instance, a level 27 captain’s quarter gives a 1.34 or 134.3% Sailor bonus, adding up to a total of 284.3% when combined with the initial bonus.

Strength increases attack by 0.2% per point. Adding high-quality heroes to your ship, upgrading their levels, and equipping trinkets enhances this. Correct hero placement provides a 20% attribute bonus.

Attack Bonus
The attack bonus further enhances the calculated attack. This can be gained through Helm attributes, trinket effects, guild bonuses, or Stargaze. For instance, a fully optimized ship can achieve a total attack of 77,893.

Hero Attack
When heroes use active skills, they multiply the ship's attack by the skill’s modifier to produce specific damage types. For example, Molly’s skill deals strategic damage at 438% of her attack.

Damage Bonus
The damage bonus is the final step in damage calculation, applying to all types (Basic, Burning, Taking on Water, Artillery, Cutthroat, and Strategic). For instance, a ship’s Basic attack might be enhanced by a 32% damage bonus, while strategic attacks could benefit from both 32% and 26.9% bonuses.

Attack vs. Damage Bonus
Choosing between attack and damage bonuses depends on which yields a higher benefit. Enhancing the lower bonus often provides the best results due to diminishing returns.

Equal Bonuses: Adding a 25% bonus to either attack or damage results in the same output.
High Attack, Low Damage Bonus: Adding 25% to the damage bonus yields better results.
