Every minute counts in emergency care. But for years, many Northern Virginia communities didn’t have a local Level II Trauma Center. If there was a severe emergency such as a major vehicle pileup, stroke or industrial accident, patients would have to be transported outside the beltway or across a bridge.
Now, thousands of people will not have to be transported up to 20 miles away when their lives depend on receiving care immediately. Bringing this care to VHC Health™ is one of the most critical developments to improve emergency care in this region in generations.
This investment would not have been possible without the generosity of the community. Donor funding played a critical role in providing the staff, training and equipment needed to certify VHC Health™ as a Level II Trauma Center by the state.
