United States President Donald Trump’s visit to China this week will mark his seventh face-to-face meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The visit will also be the first trip by a US leader to China since 2017. US President Donald Trump is in Beijing for talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping at a crucial moment for the global economy. Trump wants China to open its markets to American companies, increase investment and job creation in the US, and buy more American agricultural products, such as beef and soya beans.
Xi is expected to seek concessions on Taiwan and tariffs, or at least no new duties, to keep trade flowing between the two countries.
The US and Israel’s war on Iran is also likely to feature in the talks, as China is Tehran’s biggest oil and gas customer. Analysts say Trump wants to see what the Chinese can do to help end the war.

Others taking part include Meta's Dina Powell McCormick, BlackRock's Larry Fink, Blackstone's Stephen Schwarzman, Micron's Sanjay Mehrotra, Mastercard's Michael Miebach, Qualcomm's Cristiano Amon and Visa's Ryan ​McInerney, the official said. Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins was invited by the White House to join the China trip but ​was unable to attend as the company's earnings will be released this week, a company spokesperson said.
The ⁠U.S. and China are expected to agree to forums to facilitate mutual trade and investment, while China is expected to announce ​purchases related to Boeing airplanes, American agriculture and energy, Reuters reported earlier on Monday.
