Boost for maternal, infant healthcare in Chimanimani

THE Lions Club International Foundation last Friday donated a state-of-the-art maternity wing which is poised to transform maternal and infant healthcare to the Vhimba community in Chimanimani District.
The facility, built at cost of US$100 000, will serve as a hub of maternal, newborn and child health, reproductive health and family planning programmes.
The facility will help address the root causes and social drivers of poor health outcomes for mothers, infants and children, and leverage the power inherent in the communities.
In an interview, on the sidelines of the handover, LCIF past international director, Mr Manoj Shah said the gesture was part of their commitment to improving healthcare access and outcomes in marginalised communities
