SURVIVING the 4 State Challenge (It Got Scary) - AT Thru Hike Part 9

Описание: The Appalachian Trail just gave me a serious reality check. We started the night hunkered down in one of the most intense thunderstorms I’ve ever experienced. But instead of sleeping, we kicked off the infamous 4 State Challenge at midnight. The goal: hike through Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland, to reach the Pennsylvania border in under 24 hours.

From the dark streets of Harpers Ferry to the Washington Monument, the miles were stacking up. But near mile 40, everything went black. A falling tree branch caught me directly on the head, knocking me out cold and nearly ending my thru-hike—or worse.

This is a raw look at the highs and lows of the AT. It’s not always pretty, and sometimes the trail hits back. Stick around to the end to see if I managed to limp my way into PA to meet the crew.
