Providing you freedom, while sleeping in your bed

We gave it all, so you could be free
Carried the weight for your liberty
Through the fire, through the night
We held the line, we fought the fight

I stood with my brothers, on the front lines
Facing evil, while remembering good times
Never once did I question, never asked why
Gave all I had, there was no second try

We came back broken, body worn, but we never looked away
We learned our meds, our moods, the pain we couldn’t say
Your praise became our healing, your smile our guiding light
You gave us back our life, when we cried out at night

We thank this nation for standing by our side
For every prayer and flag raised with pride
Your voices lifted us when the days grew long
Your love and honor made our spirits strong
