So, are we witnessing the beginning of agentic commerce, where people buy things while they’re already chatting with an LLM?

It’s way too early to tell. Some shopping will certainly happen in ChatGPT, Gemini, and so on, but until these chatbots have a critical mass of items, agentic commerce will remain tiny.

Most people will still default to Amazon or Google Search, which encompass almost everything on the web, rather than just items from merchabts that an AI company already partnered with.

Plus, nobody wants a hallucinated shopping list shipped to their house.
