Описание: “Steradians, Radians Squared, Degrees Squared as Solid Angles” discusses the various names for solid angles and applies easy arguments to show how to convert from steradians to squared degrees or vice versa. The solid angle in steradians and square degrees of a sphere is developed from simple arguments beginning with the circumference of a circle. Two examples of a celestial nature, one involving the angular dimensions of the bowl of the “Big Dipper” and the angular size of the Sun (or Moon) are used to compare solid angles with different units. During production of this video, please note that the area of a Sun in squared degrees failed to show a subscript correctly as degrees squared instead of just degrees. Andrew R.
