One of the most common concerns raised about AI is its impact on the job market.
This is already being felt in several industries. For example, automation and AI are reducing roles in areas such as customer service, retail checkouts, and routine administrative work.
However, speaking to Katy Docker, Sir Joe Bossano said that Gibraltar is somewhat protected from potential unemployment as a consequence of AI, due to the large number of cross-frontier workers currently filling roles in the local economy.
