Описание:
Parrotfish have an unusual set of bones in the back of their mouths - an extra set of teeth. These teeth are specifically used to grind up coral skeletons. The ground up skeletons turn into sand, which the parrotfish release into the ocean. Around 80% of the sand found on tropical beaches comes from parrotfish. This video answers the following questions:
Where does sand come from?
Do parrotfish make sand?
How do parrotfish make sand?
Is sand parrotfish poop?
Do parrotfish poop out sand?
