The body of Ian Epstein, a flight attendant who died in the January 29 midair collision near Washington’s Reagan National Airport, made a final journey back to Charlotte, North Carolina, on February 3.
Hundreds gathered at Charlotte Douglas International Airport to pay tribute to the popular crew member.
“Fly with us forever, Ian,” wrote Sara Nelson, international president of the Association of Flight Attendants, alongside her video.
Nelson’s footage shows the plane taxiing under a water cannon salute. WBTV reported that airport workers lined up to pay their respects.
Epstein was one of 67 people who died when a passenger jet and an US Army Black Hawk helicopter collided above the Potomac River.
