PN junction diode and effects of biasing on its depletion region

Описание: A PN junction diode is formed by joining P-type and N-type semiconductor materials. When unbiased, a depletion region exists between them. In forward bias, the positive terminal is connected to the P-side, reducing the depletion width and allowing current to flow. In reverse bias, the depletion region widens, blocking current except for a tiny leakage. It’s the fundamental element in all semiconductor devices.
