Often nicknamed "Petit colorado Niçois" because of their red rocks, color due to the oxidation of iron, the Gorges of Daluis and Cians form impressive and completely exotic landscapes. The two neighboring rivers (Cians and Haut Var) have their sources in the Mercantour, more precisely in the Maritime Alps.
