AN INDEPENDENT CLAUSE has a subject and a predicate and can stand alone as a sentence.
A SUBORDINATE CLAUSE also has a subject and a predicate, but it cannot stand alone as a sentence.
Subordinate clauses are introduced by subordinating conjunctions: after, although, as, because, before, if, since, than, though. Unless, until, when, whenever, where, whereas, wherever, etc.
A sentence that contains an independent clause and one or more subordinate clauses is called a COMPLEX SENTENCE. In this video, you will practice identifying subordinate clauses. So, without further ado, Let's Get Grammarous!🙌🙌🙌
