This NES has been giving me the blinking light problem for over a year. When the cartridge barely makes contact, you get the flashing screen and even the classic “blow on the cart” trick won’t help. This is the classic 72-pin connector issue — the point where the game makes contact with the console. Dirt, corrosion, or the pins bending can make the NES think the game isn’t inserted correctly. I thought I’d have to replace the connector, but sometimes you get lucky. Here’s how I fixed mine.
