Is this an exciting video? No. No it is not. But, that’s kind of the point. This is an old video, back from our first month at the new property, 3 years ago. What makes this video worth posting is the context. Sparta was 6 at the time and had maybe 10 rides put on him the previous summer. I was very pleasantly surprised with how much he remembered with so little done the year before.
Was it super smooth? No. But this is still a horse that’s never even worn a saddle yet. In a new place. And with another horse in the pen with us. And I did no groundwork before hoping on. Just trust and a good foundation built the year before. ❤️
But a quick note, do not do this. I shouldn’t have hopped on like this. This was a bad life choice. Do not copy my bad life choices please. Do your ground work. Don’t ride an unfinished green horse with a half wild horse in the pen with you. This wasn’t smart. Be smarter than me. 😂
