I reduced the number of entities by greedy meshing walls on both X and Z axis (I was only doing it on the X axis before) and the number of entities dropped from 600-800 to roughly 200. That's 3-4 times less entities!
I am still using brute force collision detection so it's still not fully optimized but it works well for now.
I also added a new texture for particles.
I think I will add more to the gameplay for the next devlog.
