This is a complete restoration of a Grand Seiko complicated by a broken stem and a crown designed to never be opened.
What looked like a normal service turned into a series of problems that were never meant to be solved. The crown contained a snapped stem that could not be removed mechanically. After dissolving the broken stem using alum, the next issue revealed itself. The crown was sealed by design. The gasket was trapped behind a washer that was never intended to come out.
Instead of destroying the crown, a pressure based solution was used. By stacking O-rings inside the crown, controlled force from the inside was applied until the washer finally released.
This video follows the full restoration from start to finish, including cleaning, servicing, problem solving, and reassembly. Nothing is skipped, and nothing is rushed.
