Doormat Harvest is a character‑driven documentary about the Santa Cruz halibut fishery, commercial fishing culture, and the pressures facing small‑boat fishermen on the California coast. Filmed out of the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor, the film follows commercial fisherman and charter captain Damon Walker as he navigates unpredictable seasons, rising costs, and proposed fishing closures (MPAs) that threaten the community.
