The late Turkish leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said, “a good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others” and that is exactly what can be said about the principal of Nyanga High School in the Eastern Cape, Mr Khulile Qamata. He served the school with dedication and hard work for 30 years and was appointed the headmaster in 2015. Mr Qamata never allowed the limitations and disadvantages of being a rural school stop them from excelling. This morning the headmaster joins us to chat about the difference his students are making in the community and gives us a message for all the youth as we celebrate Youth Month.
