This was footage that I captured back in November 2024 during the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta test. I was still learning the moveset and game specific mechanics at the time, so I'm not playing as efficiently as someone whose had a bit more practice. I'm still not using Focus Mode properly, and specifically not utilising the Sidestep Slash, which I would eventually come to understand its mechanics after I captured this footage.

I guess I'll have to wait for the final game game before I can redeem myself?

Out of all the monsters in the beta test, this was the one that I enjoyed hunting the most. This whole fight just had an epic feel to it... Of course the fact that I was using starter gear against a boss monster obviously added to the feeling of fighting something out of my league too.

This was the third time I fought Rey Dau in the beta, and I still wasn't used to its moveset, and specifically the openings that it presents. I was spending more time trying to stay alive and NOT get hit by some of the big attacks. If I ever re-record this hunt in the final game I imagine that my overall performance will be a little different?
