UCL Engineering Foundation Year: Students' experience

We are proud to say that Caroline and Mukhtar both completed the Engineering Foundation Year in summer 2025! 🎉

Please note that course/module content may change year-to-year; while project-based learning is a fundamental part of the Engineering Foundation Year, availability and content of specific individual projects may vary in future years of the course.

The Engineering Foundation Year is a widening participation initiative, with compulsory non-academic entry requirements. Prospective students should apply to their undergraduate UCL Engineering degree of choice "with Integrated Foundation Year" on UCAS, as one of their five choices. Upon passing the Engineering Foundation Year, students automatically progress to Year 1 of the degree they applied to "with Integrated Foundation Year".
