x5 - Valvoline High Performance SAE 75W-90 Gear Oil 1 QT

Needed:
Front Differential - 10 Hex & 1.64qt of 75W-90.
Rear Differential - 24mm & 2.64qt of 75W-90.

Why 75W-90 and not 75W-85?
From my internet research and understanding, Toyota changed their specifications to 75W-85 in order to get slightly better gas millage. Most people still use 75W-90 in this vehicle. Even if you were to take it to a dealership, they would still put in 75W-90 even though it calls for 75W-85. But if you want to go with 75W-85, you will have to purchase it online, it is very rear and you will not find it in your garage auto store. From what I understand 75W-90 is a good alternative to 75W-85 and you should not have any problems.

01:40 - 04:29 2. Remove Front Differential Drain Plug & Drain Fluid.
04:30 - 09:06 3. Unbolt Front Differential Fill Plug.
09:28 - 16:23 4. Insert Drain Plug & Fill With 1.6qt Of 75W-90.
16:23 - 18:27 5. Bolt On Engine Splash Shield.
18:28 - 25:07 6. Remove Rear Differential Drain Plug & Fill Plug & Drain Fluid.
25:07 - 32:26 7. Insert Rear Differential Drain Plug & Fill With 2.6qt Of 75W-90.
32:27 - 34:11 8. Tighten Drain & Fill Plug.
