Hey it's Wyatt with No Echo Dot Net.
One Sunday afternoon I talked to Cleetus Alreetus Alrightus - (vocals) and Midnight Moses (guitar, vocals) of Philly's PLQ MRX about their new record, their plans for the future and having a good time.
The band is a collective of sorts which includes Philly venue owner (Kung- Fu Necktie) and seasoned Philly musicians affiliated with projects such as Unsane, Ecstatic Vision, and Swans.
The band's music is an experimental explosion of genres and themes. Best comparisons would be Captain Beefheart or The Butthole Surfers.
The band has an eccentric live show which PLQ MRX are taking on tour in the Fall with Dopethrone.
We talk about the new record coming out February 16th called 'UPSIDEYERHEAD'. A split release between Reptilian Records (US) and Totem Cat Records (EU).
