The Nigeria Immigration Service has launched the Single Travel Emergency Passport (STEP) to assist Nigerians abroad who lose their passports or need urgent travel documentation. The temporary, single-entry biometric passport will be issued at embassies and consulates to help stranded citizens return home safely.
Authorities say STEP replaces the old Emergency Travel Certificate and aligns Nigeria with global identity management standards. For Nigerians overseas, it represents added security, easier processing, and a clearer pathway home in emergency situations.
