The Sunday League#1 Season got off to a great start with the atmosphere around the club house reaching exciting levels with 71 eager players ready to compete in competitive Golf.

The 2025 season also saw many new players getting their first taste of the Duckhook community as introduction were done before moving to the 1st and 10th Tee.

As always the Modderfontein course provided a tough challenge with lush rough and big trees lining the fairways, making sure positioning and course management be key in the quest to top the leaderboard.
With the players struggling to take the score past -1 (37 points) All the action was on the 18th hole as 4 players had a chance to take the Victory at the closing stages. Leon van Aarde posted the club house lead on -1 (37 pts) which was soon to be taken from him when Gary Mansfield also carded 37 points but the Count-back in his favour. Andrew Wessels reach the back of the 18th green needing to chip in to take the lead but came up just short, thereafter Leon Oosthuizen also needed to chip, the final chance to become the ultimate winner.
In the end Gary Mansfield held onto the Top spot to secure his 1st Duckhook career win at a course which suits his game.
Congratulations to Gary for start the Sunday League#1 off in style and Well Done to all the players who made the day a memorable one ⛳️
