In this short video, I will explain the difference between commercial and editorial images. The basic difference between editorial and commercial images is their use when buyers buy them. Commercial or creative images can be used to promote different services, businesses, or products and if you have recognizable people or property you will need a model or property release. Wile Editorial images are used to document real-life issues, current events and they cannot be used to promote services or products of any kind. For them, you don't need any releases for recognizable people. Keep in mind when shooting for stock photography that on Shutterstock you can upload booth types of images while on Adobe stock you can only upload commercial images. These are the basic every stock contributor should know about commercial vs editorial images.
