Inspired by my maritime family history, I wrote 'The Ballad of Captain Green' a few years ago - recording in song, the story of my Great Grandad, Captain John Richard Green, who was awarded a D.S.C. for bravery after battling a U Boat during The Great War in 1915
Inspired by some further research that has come to light and the addition of a guitar track from Andrew Poulter, I've recorded a new version.
Thanks to my cousin Carolyn and brother Martin for the research, Chris Hunt for providing some more context and resources, and Pat Kilbey for finding me a musician to work with!
