Fandango is a lively folk dance originating from the Iberian Peninsula, performed traditionally with guitar, castanets, and tambourine. Energetic and fierce, it is often accompanied by singing, and its distinctive character and rhythm have been inspiring classical composers since the beginning of the 18th century. Already before Dionisio Aguado (1784-1849), his predecessors such as Antonio Soler and Luigi Boccherini incorporated the motif into their own Fandangos, written in the spirit of the fandango español.

Hanna Zielińska is a Polish guitarist studying in Vienna at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst. The recording was done as a part of a project conducted by Resonant Connections Media, with Michael Ibsen and Steven den Toom in the summer of 2024. The piece was recorded on a guitar made by Bogusław Teryks.
