A walk up Helm Crag, Grasmere, on a beautiful day at the start of winter. The common name for Helm Crag is 'The Lion and the Lamb', after the rock formation which adorns the summit and is said to resemble the outline of a Lion with a lamb at it's front.
Although prominent from the valley floor, the famed lion is surprisingly elusive when the summit is reached, and is often confused with another, equally famous rock formation named 'The Howitzer'. But which is which, and how easy are they to find when you reach the summit?
