Some very high water levels after prolonged rainfall due to atmospheric river weather patterns. Days and days of rain. Some local areas being placed under flood warnings and flash flood warnings.
The bridge felt safe. But I was still passively aware that I could be working under a false presumption. I decided it was best to not linger too long, just in case something did happen. But then we still did need to drive back across the bridge to get back.
The bridge was constructed in 1939, and there have been floods before, probably even worse ones. But one never knows when any construction reaches its failure point. Always going to be some risk.
