Molecular formula of Glucose is C6H12O6. Glucose is an aldohexose - a six carbon monosaccharide. There are four chiral centers in Glucose. It means it can have maximum of 16 stereoisomers. Since the terminal groups are non-identical, there is no possibility of mesomer. Hence there are 8 pairs of enantiomers. Naturally glucose exists as D-glucose. The alphabet 'D' represents the relative configuration of Glucose wrt D-Glyceraldehyde. The enantiomer of D - glucose will be L - glucose. Hence, Rest 14 molecules are diastereomers of glucose.
